Heartland Consumer Network

Home

The Heartland Consumer Network works to promote honest mental health information across the state of Missouri. Not all people know that complete recovery from mental health labels is possible. We are an advocacy organization that shares this information. We work to create policy changes so that all people can learn how this is possible.

We were funded in September 2009 by a SAMHSA Statewide Consumer Organization grant.  We want to build a mental health system that works, that makes people better. We want to fund what’s effective and not what’s expensive. We have hub locations in different Missouri Regions, including Kansas City, St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, Kirksville, and Springfield.

Our purpose is to create a unified voice for people who receive mental health services in Missouri. All of our programs create social inclusion by providing friendship opportunities, consumer to consumer interaction, mutual peer support, support groups, recreation, and self-help training.
